Welcome to Bishounen Garden, the home of various fanatics and friends of Bishounen, those male beauties of anime and manga. Please notice that the subject also involves shounen ai and yaoi(gay male love), so if these matters offend you, please leave.
This website provides information on joining as well as various interesting resources, such as fanfics, fanarts, wallpapers etc. You can also find your way to our chat or our Bishounen List.
The story
All things start from ideas in some way, so did this. A few people, who all happened to care a lot for bishounen, wanted a place to talk about bishounen, drool over bishounen, talk even more, get them into funny situations and so on. Soon, Chess founded the list and in no time, there were about 10 members, mostly from the Weiß Kreuz mailing list(WKML), but also from other places.
The idea is for everyone to adopt a bishounen, and to keep him at all times alongside you, take good care of him, order him to take his shirt off now and then to let others drool ^__^(no, that's not really a rule, but a really good idea). In short - discussions about bishounen in general. I could say that the idea is to share information about bishounen, to learn more of these great boys that keep our eyes on the mangas and tv screens so well. Sometimes, we also play a little rp with bishies.
Early June 2003 Yahoo, or perhaps an anti-gay moderator for Yahoo, decided that yaoi is not welcome there and destroyed our mailing list without warning. Naturally, we didn't stop to cry but moved to an independent mailing list. If you were a member of the old list, you might not have been automatically moved, so please subscribe again, see below.
In short - anything around bishies, with of course a bit of OT discussions now and then, like on any list.
The rules
Frequently asked - "what is a bishounen teasing garden member, for the purposes of member only stuff?" - That's anyone who's joined the list and submitted at least one bishounen profile
We don't want to seem like this was a place full of little rules everyone has to follow to the letter, so I will keep this short

| we're all different - respect other people and their feelings, opinions, beliefs and so on. everyone is entitled to an opinion and in most conversations, there's no such thing as an absolutely correct one |
| respect original authors, if someone works hard to create a fanart, it's always a nice habit to let everyone know the author of a fanart when sending one to the list for example. and trust us, when you do the same, we'll always respect your work if you choose to send your fanarts to the gallery or bishounen list |

Subscribing to the Mailing List
- Jump to http://mailman.bishounen.info/mailman/listinfo/bishounengarden
- Enter your email address and choose a password
- Click on the Subscribe button
- Please send a message to the list, to bishounengarden@bishounen.info and say hello, introduce yourself
Joining the Bishounen List
New Bishounen are a nice thing to have. And you DO want to adopt one ^__^. A few notes
- Choose a bishounen you like. Remember, it's good to know a little background info on him. Not everything, but a little bit
- Check that he's available. To verify this, post to the list and ask everyone if your bishie is adopted or not
- By adding your bishounen to the Bishounen List you make the above
"official" and more importantly, help make the list bigger. Of course, if he's already on the list, this isn't
required, though you may change/add any information. You may choose to only tell his name
and the basic information, or a lot more if you like. There are no official rules on what
you should include. Good things are of course name, origin(or original
character), age(if known), eye/hair color, a few
pictures, fanart or official. Just look at the other profiles and think of something
- Email the profile to webmaster@b2.st with all the details you want
- Attach picture files preferrably in JPG format only and in a .ZIP file (the zip file part is not needed, but helpful). Or - just provide the exact web addresses to the pictures
- If the pictures you send are taken from a web site other than your own, ask the webmaster for permission to use the pictures. This has always been done, and it's a good habit that doesn't take too much effort. Please respect the fact that people have worked hard on sites and pictures
- Try to avoid splitting the email into many parts - I don't mind huge emails, I'm on a fast connection
- Give me a few days to process the stuff and add him to the list
Members only -stuff
Bishounen Garden offers a few nice options to members. We're in the process of updating this, but worth noting are
- Web and email forwarders with bishounen related addresses. The new system isn't yet working, but will be in a few months
- Fanart and fanfic galleries. Click on the above "member creations" button to see these areas. You may send your own fics or arts there. No HTML skills are neccessary, just send up your fic to webmaster@b2.st and we'll do the rest. Please attach details on the author (what name and email you want to use) and any other information you want attached
- Mystery stuff ^__^. Rumour has it we've got some nice archives too...
